NAAHP welcomes your interest in our organization and invites you to become a member. You will be joining fellow health professions advisors and patron (professional school and national health association) members in receiving a quarterly journal, monthly electronic newsletter, discounted National Meeting registration and discounted pricing on NAAHP publications.

Please read all information on this page carefully
before submitting an application for membership.

All Memberships Expire October 31st, 2020

Applications for membership are subject to verification and approval before your membership is made active.

NAAHP requires a letter from your Dean, Direct Supervisor, Executive Director or Provost verifying your official title and role in health professions advising prior to approval for membership.

The letter:

  • must be on your institution's letterhead,
  • must include your official title,
  • must have a brief statement on your role in health professions advising at your institution.

Exceptions cannot be accommodated for the application and review process.

For questions concerning the membership application process, or which membership type you qualify for, please contact Tesha White in the NAAHP national office.

Information about NAAHP Membership Categories

There are six membership categories for you to consider applying for: three representing undergraduate programs and government affiliated programs, two representing professional programs and health professions associations and one for members retired from their role but still active in the advising community who are not affiliated with a for profit company.

Each category of membership has specific qualifications for application approval.

Undergraduate Member Categories
NAAHP member categories serving those representing undergraduate programs will have automatic membership in their respective region. Those categories are:

Advisor
Community College Advisor
Affiliate Member

Regions
The four regions represented are the Central Association of Advisors for the Health Professions (CAAHP), the Northeast Association of Advisors for the Health Professions (NEAAHP), the Southeast Association of Advisors for the Health Professions (SAAHP) and the Western Association of Advisors for the Health Professions WAAHP.

Graduate Member Categories
Patron and Associate Patron membership member categories are able to participate in activities in all four regions and have benefits specific to their membership category. There must be one patron member at the institution of an individual applying associate patron membership. Patron members are recognized and represented in the back of our quarterly journal, The Advisor.

Retired Member Category
Members who maintained membership for five consecutive years prior to retirement will qualify for Emeritus membership. Emeritus members formerly representing undergraduate institutions have recognition and membership in their respective regions. Emeritus membership must be requested by emailing Tesha White or contacting the NAAHP National Office.

Transfers and Member Profile Changes
NAAHP memberships are non transferable. Individuals replacing a current member must apply and pay for membership as a new member. Those transferring from one institution to the next must apply for membership by creating a new profile and applying under the appropriate member category. While most changes can be made in your individual member profile when you log in, NAAHP national office will accept requests via email for edits to your individual profile that you are unable to make yourself.
