    Job Description:
    • Provide information and support to students regarding healthcare careers and program admission requirements, standardized test preparation, admission essays, reviewing and selecting programs, etc.
    • Provide strategic individual and group coaching as well as host programs and workshops around pre-health options, career/major decision-making, and professional development utilizing core competencies expected of incoming medical students.
    • Create and maintain online course materials for the purpose of pre-health student advising.
    • Plan and execute events, special programming, and admissions information sessions.
    • Enhance HPAO relationships with current students across campus as well as hosting information sessions for prospective students.
    • Maintain accurate statistical reporting of activities through reporting systems.  Work with team to assess and value of programming and services.
    Minimum Qualifications:
    • A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution of higher education is necessary.
    • Candidates with a Master’s degree in counseling, higher education, or related field from an accredited institution of higher education are strongly preferred
    • t least three (3) years’ experience in health professions advising or a health professions admissions office, including counseling, educational programming, working with faculty and admissions representatives, and administrative responsibilities is necessary.
    • At least one (1) year of experience in pre-health advising or admissions, or an equivalent setting providing career placement activities is strongly preferred.
    • Thorough knowledge of all aspects of application preparation and decision-making related to medical school or other health professions admissions process which may also include dentistry, veterinary medicine, physician assistant training, and physical & occupational therapy is necessary.
    • Ability to conduct individual and small group coaching sessions is necessary.
    • Demonstrated success in and/or project management for at least one year. Experience with or knowledge of and peer advising systems is necessary.
    • Knowledge of a broad range of health professions careers and opportunities for students to enhance their professional development and competencies important in the health professions is necessary
