  • Associate Director Admissions - NYIT College of Osteopathic Medicine - Old Westbury, NY

    Job Description:  Direct the application review system for the New York campus; select applicants for interview. Interact with applicants, faculty alumni and student ambassador’s through out the interview process. Should be well versed and familiar with the AACOMAS application process and cycle.

    Manage the New York off campus recruitment activities - participate in recruitment events, fairs, college visits etc… Advise prospective students on program requirements and admissions procedures.

    Plan and implement student recruitment events on the New York campus including Open Houses, Information Days, and campus tours; prepare progress reports on all recruitment activities

    Develop and cultivate relationships with key individuals, groups and institutions (pre-med advisors NAAHP, BS/DO programs coordinators, AACOM representatives) to recruit the best candidates for the New York campus

    Coordinate special admissions programs such as EPP, DO/MBA, DO/CN, DO/NMSS; act as liaison with corresponding academic departments.

    Coordinate updates to the admissions web site; oversee updates to admissions inquiry site and database. Oversee communication plan to applicants throughout the cycle.

    Participate on the team work with NYIT C&M to create and update admissions marketing materials, publications, recruitment materials and promotional items.

    Participate in NYIT COM Student Administration division events such as Hooding Ceremony, White Coat Ceremony, and Orientation.

    Responsible for departmental planning and staff training for the New York Campus. Manage the operations of the Admissions office at the New York campus and supervise New York campus operations staff- Assistant Directors and support staff.

    Actively engage with the membership of the NAAHP Pre-health advisors and develop collaborative partnerships with these undergraduate and graduate programs, to include post-baccalaureate and Master’s degree granting programs.

    All other responsibilities assigned by the Director of Admissions to support the multi campus admissions efforts.

    Minimum Qualifications:
    A Master’s degree is required.

    Able to initiate, develop and manage multiple projects and programs independently and simultaneously.

    Flexible and adaptable to change; must have ability to travel and work evenings and weekends.

    Strong organizational and decision-making skills; able to play either a leading or supporting role.

    Must be able to appreciate and understand culturally and internationally diverse student population; knowledge of international educational credentials needed.

    Proficient in use of all computer programs.
