Communications

Committee Description

The Communications Committee oversees all NAAHP print and electronic communications. The members serve as the Editorial Review Board of The Advisor, the association’s quarterly journal, participate in writing and editing of the various print publications, contribute to the website, and determine policy regarding materials produced by NAAHP.

Recent Accomplishments

Newer initiatives

  • Developing a NAAHP blog
  • Revising the Health Professions Admissions Guide
  • Enhancing NAAHP social media presence

Ongoing initiatives

  • Producing The Advisor quarterly journal
  • Overseeing the Find an Advisor Service that matches students who do not have access to a health professions advisor to volunteer advisors
  • Producing NAAHP-Net, a monthly newsletter highlighting current association news and updates from an Advisory Council partner
  • Managing and creating website resources
  • Coordinating advisor volunteers for the AAMC Virtual Fair and other virtual events
  • Coordinating advisor contributions to the AAMC Premed Navigator newsletter
  • Collaborating with Advisory Council members and liaisons to produce the NAAHP-Sack resources

How to Get Involved

The Communications Committee is chaired by the NAAHP Director of Communications; additional members include three Assistant Directors, and two members from each of the four Regional Associations who serve in two-year terms.
