    Dear Colleagues,

I am posting here to inquire if your institutions or departments have provided students any information or recommendations about their volunteer hours in clinical settings.  My concern is that student may feel they still need to gain those hours for applying this next cycle and may decide to neglect social distancing recommendations and be exposed to CV-19, and adding to the spread of the virus with the pressure to stay competitive for med schools and health professional programs.
    Best,
    Francisco

It sounds to me that our health care system is bracing for a worst-case scenario seeing how Italy is trying to cope.  I actually expect that all clinical volunteering opportunities will be suspended for the safety of patients and health care providers.  Social distancing means staying safe at home and not rushing to a hospital unless absolutely necessary when sick.
