Update from Rapid City, South Dakota:

We have had a few cases here in South Dakota, including a death in our county earlier this week. We have been on spring break this week and have not presumptive or confirmed cases on campus as the moment. As a preventative measure, our institution has decided to extend our spring break into next week, with plans to resume classes on March 23rd. We are opening residence halls and dining services March 15th for students who do not have the option of staying away longer, but there is a process for bringing students back on campus that is being implemented. The university is remaining open and our IT folks are running Zoom training sessions all next week to help staff/faculty who may need to move meetings and possibly classes online. We are also requiring anyone returning from a high-risk area or country to self-quarantine for 14 days off-campus prior to returning to campus. We are also suspending all non-essential university-affiliated travel and cancelling many of our large events.

I hope your institutions are also taking appropriate precautions in response to COVID-19.

Stay safe and healthy out there, everyone!
