  • Department of Labor Issues OSHA, Wage/Hour, and FMLA Guidance Addressing COVID-19

In response to the spreading 2019 novel coronavirus (“COVID-19”) pandemic, which has now been declared a national emergency by President Trump, the Department of Labor has released guidance to employers.
  • NAAHP National Office

The health and well-being of the NAAHP National Office staff are my top priority and in this current COVID-19 environment, it's important that we do what is necessary to ensure their safety. Beginning March 16th, the NAAHP National Office will begin a two-week telecommute schedule for all staff. We are making the necessary arrangements to ensure that we conduct business as usual and will keep all of you informed of any changes. The office will not be officially "closed" but staff is encouraged to make arrangements to work at home for the next two weeks. Please note, although we will be checking voicemail throughout each business day, contacting us via email will likely result in quicker response time than calling the National Office. We appreciate your understanding during this temporary adjustment in service.
  • NAAHP Response Regarding National Conference

As we all pay close attention to the news about the coronavirus (COVID-19), I wanted to send this brief update on the status of NAAHP programming and events for our 2020 National Convention in New Orleans in June. Along with the NAAHP leadership, I am closely monitoring the situation, and we are actively discussing the next steps should there be a significant escalation of the virus. Our highest priority is the wellbeing of all those who plan to attend the conference.

Currently, the NAAHP 2020 National Conference will continue as planned. Should there be any changes to our plans, we will send updates via email to all conference attendees, exhibitors, sponsors, and to our entire membership. We will also keep you informed through our website. I have been in touch with our host hotel in New Orleans, and I am confident that appropriate measures are being taken on their end.

Additional information on COVID-19 is available via:

I’m looking forward to welcoming all of you to New Orleans as we celebrate the Health Professions Advising Community Cajun-Style! Should any of our plans change, I will be sure you are informed!
