NAAHP Supports

The NOMC has provided medical care to musicians and performing artists in New Orleans for more than 21 years. They offer occupational and comprehensive health services for musicians, performers, cultural workers and tradition bearers of New Orleans (Mardi Gras Indians, Social Aid & Pleasure Club Members). They serve any patient over the age of 19 and their families, regardless of insurance status or ability to pay. The NOMC also supports the NAAHP’s mission of helping to develop future healthcare professionals who are dedicated not only to scientific inquiry, but also to the compassionate care of whole communities.

Currently, the Musicians' Clinic is focusing on mental health access, social services and primary care access to support their patients during the COVID-19 crisis. Through their community health programs, they were founding partners on three local food sourcing projects (Feed the Secondline, Meals for Musicians, and Culture Aid NOLA) and have created a body of fact sheets to help inform those who are without stable internet access (the factsheets can be found here). Those fact sheets are distributed at food banks throughout the city. Lastly, they are about to launch our month long blood drive series in partnership with 5 legacy music venues (Tipitina's, Howlin Wolf, Snug Harbor, d.b.a., and Ashe Cultural Arts Center) to help prepare the region for hurricane season. And everyone who donates blood at one of their drives will receive a COVID-19 antibodies test.

So, even though we will not meet in person and have the fun of out bidding our friends at a silent auction, please donate to NOMC here:
